Affordability & Efficiency at OHIO
Background
The state-wide Ohio Task Force on Affordability and Efficiency in Higher Education (the 鈥淭ask Force鈥) is鈥stablished to review and recommend ways in which State-sponsored institutions of higher education, including four-year universities and two-year community colleges, can be more efficient, offering education of equal or higher value while at the same time decreasing their costs. This can be done only if institutions of higher education become more efficient and productive in the use of their asset, personnel and resources.
Task Force Charge
OHIO University鈥檚 Task Force on Affordability and Efficiency seeks to align with this state-wide effort while continuing to give emphasis to the University鈥檚 broader objective of being the nation's best transformative learning community where students realize their promise, faculty advance knowledge, staff achieve excellence, and alumni become global leaders. To help the University achieve this, OHIO鈥檚 Task Force on Affordability and Efficiency will review and recommend innovative strategies to deliver high quality education programs and course content and champion alternative business models that promote efficiency and enhanced productivity in our colleges and administrative business units. We will seek to identify opportunities to invest in new programs that enhance OHIO's teaching, research and service mission, while preserving the OHIO Guarantee鈥檚 predictable cost model to insure the university remains accessible and affordable to Ohio students and their families. By committing to these efforts, the OHIO Task Force seeks to sustain the positive momentum of the last five years and position the University to continue to be a progressive leader in the 21st century.
