Reserving Classrooms

The Office of the University Registrar oversees the scheduling of all classrooms on the 51ÉçÇø Athens Campus for 51ÉçÇø activities (including classes and noncredit activities by university departments, faculty, staff, and student organizations).

To reserve a classroom through the Registrar's Office, you must agree to the terms of usage.

oversees the reservation of space in Baker University Center and several other special event spaces at the university. Event Services also is responsible for reserving space on behalf of individuals not directly affiliated with 51ÉçÇø. Please visit website for more information about spaces available.

Additionally, some small conference rooms, meeting rooms, seminar rooms, or laboratories are scheduled by individual departments.

Classroom Key Procedure

Exterior building doors will be unlocked prior to the scheduled event. The event permit holder is responsible for obtaining an interior classroom door key prior to the scheduled event. Faculty/staff can obtain a classroom key from their departmental key contact.

How To Reserve Classrooms for Faculty/Staff

To reserve a classroom, submit a request online at , by choosing the "Request an Event" link in the center of the page and use the University Department Room Request Form. You will be notified via email once your room reservation is confirmed or if additional information is required. For more detailed information, view Room Reservation Instructions.

Same day requests, next day requests made after 4:30 p.m., and weekend requests made after 4:30 p.m. on Friday, may not be submitted online. To make this type of reservation, please call 740.593.4188, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Reservations needed during finals week may be made by email to classroom scheduling.

How To Reserve Classrooms for Student Organizations

Classrooms may be reserved only by student organizations that are officially registered with 51ÉçÇø's Campus Involvement Center. 

To reserve a classroom, submit a request online at , by choosing the "Request an Event" link in the center of the page and use the Student Organization Room Request Form. You will be notified via email once your room reservation is confirmed or additional information is required; and the president of the organization will also be notified. Student organizations may request classroom space in advance of the semester starting, however, requests will not be reviewed and confirmed until the week prior to the start of the semester. Please note, the room you request may not be available (i.e., academic department has the room, or an organization has requested a classroom ahead of your request). In this case, a classroom will be assigned that is comparable to what was requested. Once a semester has started, room requests for that semester will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

This type of reservation must be made in person at the Registrar's Office, Chubb Hall 115, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Reservations needed during finals week may be made by in person.

Student organizations will need to contact their sponsor/advisor to obtain access to the classroom.

Outside Organizations

Outside organizations or individuals (any group or person who is not a part of a university department or student organization) must contact Event Services. Please visit for more information.
