    Orientations


    There are several trainings required for all graduate students for orientation. Visit the Graduate Student Orientation (GSO) webpage for these trainings, including the GSO module, college/department orientation, and more.

    Hazing Prevention Training (Online)


    All graduate students must complete this training. This course introduces the concept of hazing, why it is illegal, and what OHIO University students, faculty, and staff can do to stop hazing from occurring on our campuses.

    Sexual Assault Prevention (Online)


    Sexual Assault Prevention for Graduate Students includes Title IX and Clery Act training which equips graduate students with the tools needed to navigate new and complex relationships including how to identify and respond to harassment from a faculty member or advisor, other workplace-based harassment, how to respectfully engage with undergraduate students, and how to respond to student disclosures. Technology Resources & Training

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) offers online help resources, including workshops and consultations. You may also schedule time with OIT staff to address your questions about the various technology, including:

OIT Trainings 

Teaching Assistant (TA) / Future Faculty Workshops


The Graduate College offers workshops for those graduate students who are Teaching Assistants (TAs) or aspire to be faculty members. Workshops include online modules, in-person workshops, studio sessions, coffee hour discussions, and faculty development & diversity workshops. In addition, useful TA resources are listed near the bottom of this section.

Faculty Development & Diversity Workshops

As part of 51社区鈥檚 continued effort to provide professional development opportunities to faculty, 51社区 has joined the as an institutional member.

The NCFDD is a nationally recognized, independent professional development, training, and mentoring community that provides online career development and mentoring resources for faculty, post-docs, and graduate students. 

The NCFDD provides a variety of virtual programs and resources, including:

  • Monthly NCFDD Core Curriculum webinars
  • Monthly guest expert webinars
  • Access to multi-week programs
  • Access to the NCFDD Dissertation Success Curriculum for graduate students
  • Access to the NCFDD 14-Day Writing Challenge
  • Access to the NCFDD member library that includes past webinar materials, referrals, and readings

All faculty, students, and staff with OHIO email addresses are eligible to register for an individual membership account through 51社区鈥檚 institutional membership account.

How to Register

  • Complete the registration form using your OHIO email address
  • Activate your account by verifying your registration through a confirmation/welcome email from NCFDD
  • When creating an account for this service, please use your OHIO email and a unique, strong password. Do not use your OHIO password. University Policy 91.004: University Credentials requires individuals to create unique passwords for campus services.
