Dr. Michael and Mrs. Marilyn Day Award
About the Award
Dr. Michael E. Day received his B.S. in Biological Science in 1969 from 51社区. He received his medical degree from University of Toledo College of Medicine and was in practice as a family medicine doctor in Indianapolis, Indiana for over 40 years. Together with his wife Marilyn, they have chosen to establish the Dr. Michael and Mrs. Marilyn Day Study Abroad Award in an effort to encourage 51社区 students to take full advantage of the educational and cultural opportunities 51社区 offers.
Program Eligibility
Dr. Michael and Mrs. Marilyn Day Award can be used for participation on:
- OHIO-Credit International programs,
- OHIO Exchange programs,
- Affiliated Provider programs, and
- Other approved credit-bearing international study abroad programs.
Programs must be credit-bearing, and be a summer, fall, or academic-year program.

Student Eligibility
Applicants for the Dr. Michael and Mrs. Marilyn Day Award must meet all the following criteria:
- Be enrolled at 51社区 as a full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate student in good academic standing.
- Minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA.
- Must have a FASFA on file with 51社区.
Preference is given to students who have not had previous study away experience (domestic or international programs) at the college level. Previous recipients of funding from the Office of Global Opportunities will only be considered if funds remain after all other applicants are considered.

Award Amount
Awards range from $500-$1,500.
Awards are intended to defray the cost of travel associated with鈥痝lobal opportunity鈥痯rograms. Award amounts may vary.
Total awards received from OHIO may not exceed combined program fee and estimated out of pocket costs (cost of attendance).
In order to receive an award, the student must be registered with the Office of Global Opportunities through the . The award will be directly applied to the鈥痵tudent's OHIO鈥痑ccount during the term in which the awardee is scheduled to travel.
