The 51ÉçÇø College of Arts & Sciences prepares students for successful lives by advancing their personal and intellectual growth through a 21st-century liberal arts education. With a dynamic focus on research, discovery, and innovation, the college empowers students and faculty to address critical challenges and explore new knowledge.
The college's breadth spans Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. As the academic cornerstone of 51ÉçÇø's transformative learning experience, the College of Arts & Sciences delivers foundational instruction for the entire university through its general education and liberal arts curriculum. It provides primary instruction for approximately one-third of the undergraduate majors on campus and accounts for half of the undergraduate credit hours on the Athens campus. The college also has rigorous graduate education with numerous master’s programs and nine doctoral degrees offered across eight departments.
