Dear Sybarite5 ticket buyer,

We would like to first thank you for your patience during this unusual and trying time.  No one expected the dramatic impact COVID-19 would have on the Arts and Theater industry, let alone the society as a whole.

We are sad to inform you that we have cancelled Sybarite5, set for Wednesday, March 25, 2020 @ 7:30 PM at Baker University Center Theatre. Be assured that Sybarite5 will return to 51社区, but unfortunately, we were not able to reschedule this particular show. Therefore, we are refunding all purchases to the original payment type. If there are any issues with your refund, a ticket office manager will be in touch.

Please note that our ticket vendors are experiencing a high volume of requests nationwide and we appreciate your patience during this process. We anticipate it taking approximately two weeks to process the refund. If you do not see a refund or are not contacted by a ticket office manager by April 1, 2020, please email performingarts@ohio.edu.

Equal parts passion, grit, and musical ecstasy, Sybarite5 is an intoxicating cocktail of post-genre musical goodness expressed through the virtuosity of Sami Merdinian and Sarah Whitney, violins; Angela Pickett, viola; Laura Metcalf, cello; and Louis Levitt, bass. This exciting quintet is constantly evolving, defying categorization, and has been keeping audiences on their toes for 10 years.

The group has performed in 43 states and counting,"from the Library of Congress, (Washington DC) to Anchorage Concert Association, (Alaska) as well as concerts in Sybarite5鈥檚 home of New York City at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, National Sawdust, the Apple Store and a decade residency at Nancy Manocherian鈥檚 Cell Theatre. In addition to its own groundbreaking, portable music festival, Forward Festival, Sybarite5 has appeared at festivals including Ravinia, Caramoor, Wolf Trap, Grand Teton, Aspen, Interlochen, Chautauqua and many others. International appearances include Canada鈥檚 Tuckamore Music Festival, the New Docta International Music Festival in Cordoba, Argentina, and the Osaka Festa in Osaka, Japan.

Recently dubbed 鈥渢he millennial Kronos鈥� (Theater Jones), Sybarite5 is chamber music鈥檚 most dynamic ensemble taking listeners on a musical journey of staggering breadth and depth with new works by living composers, as well as the group鈥檚 favorite selections from Radiohead, Coltrane, Komitas, Piazzolla, and Pete Seeger... but as Strings Magazine says, 鈥渢hat doesn鈥檛 even begin to describe the range of their eclecticism or the depth of their repertoire.鈥�
