Office of Faculty Learning and Advancement
The mission of the Office of Faculty Learning and Advancement is to enhance the quality of professional life for the 51ÉçÇø Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) faculty and support them in their goal of lifelong learning and professional excellence. We strive to create a collaborative working environment for all faculty that embraces diversity, equal opportunity, respect, and collaboration. We offer a variety of services, programs, and resources for the professional development and advancement of faculty affiliated with the Heritage College. Our goal is to help faculty develop innovative approaches to career success and advancement in our academic and clinician-educator pathways.
Faculty Career Advancement
OFLA supports academic achievement processes, awards, and recognition for faculty and assists with the management of the faculty lifecycle from recruitment to retirement.
Faculty Learning
OFLA provides professional development opportunities for faculty in areas such as teaching, mentorship and coaching, and leadership.
Medical Education Research
OFLA leads and supports medical education research to ensure continuous quality improvement in teaching and learning.

Additional functions of the Office of Faculty Learning and Advancement include supporting faculty involvement in shared governance within the college and the broader university;  facilitating and enhancing communication between college administration and faculty;  serving as a resource for conflict management and resolution for faculty; and supporting data collection, management and other processes relating to faculty staffing adequacy and accreditation reporting.
