M.S. Program and Curriculum
To apply for the M.S. program in chemical engineering, you鈥檙e expected to have a B.S. degree in chemical engineering. We do occasionally admit students from other disciplines, such as chemistry, physics, mathematics, or other fields of engineering. Special courses to make up any chemical engineering deficiency are required if you鈥檙e accepted. Email russgradinfo@ohio.edu for more info.
Master's level students generally are required to take a minimum of 21 semester hours of graduate-level coursework, 12 of which consist of courses in four chemical engineering core areas (applied calculations, thermodynamics, reaction engineering, and transport phenomena). Prior to or shortly after arriving on campus, you鈥檒l select an advisor to help formulate an appropriate course of study and direct research for the thesis.
