Patton College of Education Online Policies
Online Policies
The Patton College offers a variety of programs at 51社区 regional campuses and eCampus. All cohort programs and the courses therein are contingent on a specified minimum enrollment of students. Program start dates may be postponed if the minimum enrollment is not reached. This decision will be made no fewer than 30 days prior to the advertised start date.
Candidates seeking licensure within eighteen (18) months of successfully completing an educator preparation program at 51社区 will be recommended for licensure if they apply within that timeframe to the Ohio Department of Education. If an application for licensure is made after eighteen (18) months to the Ohio Department of Education, candidates will be required to meet with their program coordinator for consultation regarding any additional state and/or program requirements they need to complete. Following this consultation and the satisfaction of any additionally identified requirements, recommendations by 51社区 will be granted on a case-by-case basis. This applies to all candidates including past graduates who have not earned the license for which they were prepared.
State Authorization Information
State authorization allows accredited universities to offer academic programs to students nationwide. 51社区 has a committee working to identify state board regulations for the varying programs that we offer, and seek approvals, so you can participate in our programs wherever you are. Our committee makes every effort to ensure licensure information is current; however, licensure regulations are frequently revised.
51社区 is approved to offer licensure degree programs in the state of Ohio, which may also lead to license reciprocity from state to state. This includes all types of classroom delivery such as face-to-face, online, and hybrid programs. If you are considering a licensure program, we highly recommend that you contact the appropriate licensing agency in your state, or the state in which you plan to practice, to seek information and additional guidance before beginning the program.
