Graduate Admission Requirements

All graduate applications must be submitted electronically through the Graduate College. You will be prompted to first select the term for which you wish to apply. Then select 鈥淕raduate Degree Application.鈥

Schedule an Appointment with On-Campus Program Director Christine Zachrich

These requirements apply to both the online and on-campus based Master of Science in Food and Nutrition Sciences programs. 

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university or equivalent
  • Official Transcripts of all academic work must be submitted with the online application. Transcripts should show:
    • A minimum of 2.75 GPA (3.0+ recommended)
    • Recommend a minimum of 20 quarter hours or 12 semester hours of undergraduate preparation in nutrition or closely related program. Graduate coordinator can recommend specific coursework.
  • Three letters of recommendation from professional colleagues or former professors.
  • A Curriculum Vitae detailing the applicant鈥檚 professional experience.
  • A personal statement

The following requirements apply for the on-campus program only.

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
    • There are no minimum scores for the GRE. It is only one of several criteria used for admission

Graduate Application Deadlines

  • Online Program

    Students may begin the online program in the spring, summer, or fall term.

    The spring deadline for submitting applications is December 11.
    The summer deadline is April 15.
    The fall deadline is August 12.

  • On-Campus Program

    Students may begin the on-campus program in the spring, summer, or fall term.

    The spring deadline for submitting applications is December 15.
    The summer deadline is April 15.
    The fall deadline is July 15.
