About Dr. Ryu

Dr. Jay E. Ryu is a Professor of Public Policy and Administration in the Department of Political Science. He specializes in public policy, administration, and public finance. Dr. Ryu earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Seoul National University in 1986. He holds MPA degrees from Seoul National University (1988) and George Washington University (1998), and completed his Ph.D. at the School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Georgia in 2003.

His recent research emphasizes the processing and analysis of big data using R, Python, and TRANSFORMERS-backed text analysis tools.
