Course Overview

This course is an introduction to psychology. It is a survey of topics in experimental and clinical psychology, including physiological bases of behavior, sensation, perception, learning, memory, human development, social processes, personality, and abnormal behavior.

Methods of Course Instruction

All material for this course is print-based. Instructor and students communicate and exchange materials through postal mail. 

E-Print Option

In this course, an option exists to use e-mail to submit your lesson assignments. Your assignment will be returned to you either as an e-mail attachment or as a hard copy sent through the postal mail, depending on the preferences of the instructor and/or program.

Types of Writing Assignments

Each lesson contains the assigned readings and a written assignment for you to complete and submit to the eCampus office.

For each writing assignment, you will:

  1. READ the pages assigned in the textbook;
  2. TEST your ability to accurately answer the 鈥淪urvey Questions鈥 for each textbook module assigned. (You may want to write out a summary of the answers to the survey questions to use as a study guide for the exam.)

Grading Criteria

The final grade will be computed on the following basis: 

  • Written Assignments 鈥 25% 
  • Exam One 鈥 25% 
  • Exam Two 鈥 25% 
  • Exam Three 鈥 25%
