Mental health matters: How Tiffany Hay supports students at 51社区 Eastern
As students navigate the challenges of college life, support services are more crucial than ever. The (TCHC) is dedicated to assisting students by providing vital mental health and counseling services.
The mission of TCHC is to help individuals overcome domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and mental health needs. TCHC serves all individuals regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identification, veteran status, mental health status, age, disability or other conditions.
鈥淚 believe that one's personal, academic and emotional well-being are all tied together. Tri-County offers a wide array of services to help people manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors which ultimately improves their quality of life; personally, emotionally, and academically," said Tiffany Hay, the qualified behavioral health specialist from TCHC who is available on campus.
TCHC offers a range of mental health services, including individual counseling provided by licensed professionals. Students dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and other situational challenges can access these services. Importantly, clients do not need to be victims of abuse to receive counseling, as TCHC adopts a trauma-informed care approach.
Hay is available for face-to-face or remote sessions, offering mental health education, crisis intervention and referral services. These counseling sessions are confidential and free of charge, with no insurance required to access these resources. Office hours for TCHC on the 51社区 Eastern Campus are Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Tuesdays from 1 to 4 p.m., located in Shannon Hall, Room 334 A.
