Athens campus was packed April 5-7 with students and their visiting moms, who might have had a hard time choosing from the wide array of programming designed to maximize their family weekend experience.
Friday kicked off with zip-lining and a ropes challenge course at the Ridges鈥攐ne of many active options that continued throughout the weekend. Several creative activities were available too: The Center for Student Engagement and Leadership hosted the 鈥淐ommuter Moms Weekend Craft-tacular Afternoon鈥 in Jefferson Hall, where commuters and their moms could enjoy snacks while making a canvas masterpiece. Across campus in the Living Learning Center oval, Housing and Residence Life hosted a 鈥減aint and sip鈥 event. To end the evening there were the Mom鈥檚 Weekend showings of "Mamma Mia!" at the Athena and a Moms Weekend campfire at the Ridges.
Latitude 39 hosted a 鈥淪ave the Glass Brunch and Lunch,鈥 which offered a free glass to the first 500 patrons. The long-awaited University Program Council Q&A with "Dance Moms" stars Christi Lukasiak and Kelly Hyland took place in Baker Ballroom on Saturday afternoon. The celebration continued at the Bob Wren Stadium as the Bobcats took on Western Michigan for OHIO鈥檚 Mom鈥檚 Night Out baseball game, with a trucker hat giveaway earlier in the day promoting mental health advocacy through .
After a day of fitness, networking and browsing, families could spend Saturday night at a performance by comedian Hannah Berner at the Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.
The weekend closed out with a day paddle event at Dow Lake on Sunday morning and a bouquet-making event early on Sunday afternoon in Baker Center.
