University Registrar shares recent policy, course offerings updates
Beginning this fall, students will be required to provide their current living address and emergency contact information. All enrolled students will be required to confirm or update this information each semester. Next week, students logging into MyOHIO Student Center will be prompted to provide the address of the location where they will be living during fall semester unless they have a University housing address.
Policy updates
Student Address, Policy 12.022, was created to support the need for knowing where students are living and requires students to confirm or update this information each semester. This policy is necessary for compliance reasons to ensure students living outside of Ohio are notified of applicable state professional licensure requirements and to ensure that 51社区 knows where students are living in the event of an emergency.
Student Emergency Contact, Policy 12.023, was created to support the need for current student emergency contact information and requires students to confirm or update this information each semester. This policy provides how emergency contact information may be used and who has oversight of communication to emergency contact(s).
In addition to current living address and emergency contact information, students will also be prompted to provide permission to text their cell phone number. Regional campus students will be provided with an opportunity to let us know which regional campus they would like to receive their in-person services such as advising, career coaching, or participation in campus-based organizations.
Course Offerings Update
The legacy version of course offerings will be retired the week of September 11, 2023. In 2022, the updated version of Course Offerings, which uses newer technology and includes a more accessible, mobile-friendly design, was created for students, by student developers, under the mentorship of Office of Information Technology developers. Departments and schools that rely on Course Offerings for critical data needs can access the new internal-use Class Schedule report in Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI).
Please contact the Office of the University Registrar at registrar@ohio.edu or 740.593.4191 with any questions regarding these changes.
