OHIO鈥檚 Employment Services transitions to 51社区 Business Service Center
As part of its efforts to provide increased operational excellence and support to the campus community, the 51社区 Business Service Center (OUBSC) has announced a collaboration with the Office of Human Resources to merge the University鈥檚 hiring and new employee service functions.
The Employee Service Center (ESC), which is responsible for managing the hiring, benefits paperwork, onboarding, orientations and other activities for all new OHIO employees, has merged with the OUBSC to help provide a consistent, centralized new-hire employment coordination across the University community.
On-campus employment services will also move to Lindley Hall 122A in late March/early April to provide increased accessibility to the campus community. Additionally, the OUBSC is also exploring ways to enhance OHIO鈥檚 job posting and employee onboarding experiences by increasing new-hire service functions.
This effort is an important first step in OHIO鈥檚 new people strategy, led by Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer Mark Heil and Chief Human Resources Officer Colleen Bendl, which is intended to help strengthen the University鈥檚 ability to attract, develop and retain a quality workforce.
鈥淚鈥檓 delighted that we are partnering with OHIO鈥檚 Office of Human Resources to collaboratively improve multiple processes,鈥 said Heather Krugman, executive director of the OHIO Business Service Center. 鈥淭hese improvements underscore our team鈥檚 commitment to further improving campus efficiencies through job sharing, cross-training and succession planning and enables us to provide a seamless, front-facing hiring and onboarding process for new employees.鈥
Additional details will be shared via the OUBSC website as they become available.
