Faculty and Advising Center updates to improve performance and stability
Throughout fall semester, the Office of the University Registrar and the Office of Information Technology have been working to make small updates to the Faculty and Advising Center to improve the performance of the system.
These changes will be implemented the evening of Thursday, Dec. 15. Instructors, advisors, and other employees who log in to the system late Thursday evening or after will see the changes implemented.
What to expect?
The changes are to how users search and filter in lists such as the advisee list, class list, and class roster.
First, some fields now require a minimum number of characters before a search will run (e.g., a PID search must include the entire PID). Second, a search is only executed when the user tabs out of the search field or hits enter on their keyboard (or a comparable function), versus the search results being updated as the user types.
Both of these changes are intended to improve the overall performance of the system, while minimizing the impact to those who use it. As always, the 鈥淩eset鈥 button on any of these lists will clear any filters that have been applied.
