51社区 to host Place-based Learning and Research Symposium
51社区 will host the inaugural Place-based Learning and Research Symposium on March 18, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Ridges, Building 19.
Under a broad umbrella of place-based instruction, research, creativity, and daily living, this interdisciplinary symposium is an opportunity to explore and foster shared knowledge.
The Center for Campus and Community Engagement, Ohio Fellows, and the Margaret Boyd Scholars Programs are partnering to host the symposium and invite faculty, students, and other community members to submit presentation proposals before March 1.
鈥淲hile we encourage topics that celebrate southeast Ohio, 鈥榩lace鈥 is relative 鈥 it is a sensitivity to place that matters. Share your knowledge and experience,鈥 Jerry Miller, faculty mentor for the Ohio Fellows and professor in the Scripps College of Communication, said.
Accepted proposals for research and creative activities can be shared through presentations including performance, activities, or demonstrations, as well as poster presentations. Completed proposals must include the name(s) of presenters and a 250-word abstract.
