Plan ahead to meet OHIO's Nov. 15 deadline to be vaccinated against COVID-19
Meeting 51社区鈥檚 deadline of Nov. 15 to be vaccinated against COVID-19 could mean starting the vaccination process as early as this week. Students, faculty, and staff who intend to get vaccinated to meet OHIO鈥檚 requirement must plan ahead so that they allow enough time to receive all necessary vaccine doses and to provide proof of vaccination to the University.
Those students, faculty, and staff who intend to request an exemption from the University鈥檚 COVID-19 vaccine requirement on medical, moral or religious grounds also should get started soon: exemption applications are due Nov. 1 to allow time for application review.
The various COVID-19 vaccines require different time intervals between doses (21 days for Pfizer, 28 days for Moderna, and J&J is a one-dose vaccine). Some things to keep in mind:
- Not all vaccine options are available at all providers. If you have a strong preference for which vaccine you get, inquire in advance to determine where you can get your preferred vaccine.
- Once you have completed your vaccine, you will need to select the Vaccination Pathway and upload proof of vaccination in the COVID-19 Testing Pathway Program.
- If you have already selected the Weekly Pathway but want to change to the Vaccination Pathway, you will need to change your pathway either by using the unique link that was provided to you in your original pathway confirmation email, or by contacting COVIDoperations@ohio.edu for assistance.
- The list below includes recommended dates to initiate vaccines, allowing time to provide proof of vaccination to the University.
OHIO's COVID-19 vaccination deadline is Nov. 15. Initiating your vaccine by the following dates will help you meet this requirement:
- If you choose Moderna, get your first shot no later than Oct. 15, and the second shot by Nov. 12.
- If you choose Pfizer, get your first shot no later than Oct. 22, and the second shot by Nov. 12.
- If you choose Johnson & Johnson, which is a one-dose vaccine, the University recommends getting your shot by Nov. 12 to allow time for providing proof of vaccination.
