We are proud to be back on our campuses and appreciate your efforts to keep our communities safe
51社区 is excited to have our students, faculty and staff learning and working on our campuses again this fall.
While we are pleased to be back, it is essential that all of us continue to follow the safety protocols in order to protect our communities.
鈥淲e are committed to delivering an in-person experience at 51社区 this academic year while following the guidelines from state and federal health officials,鈥 51社区 President Hugh Sherman said. 鈥淎s we continue through the fall semester and enjoy the on-campus experience, I encourage you to continue to be vigilant. Wear your mask indoors and be sure to get tested and stay home if you are sick.鈥
翱贬滨翱鈥檚 COVID-19 dashboard continues to show strong numbers of students, faculty, and staff who have selected the Vaccination Pathway. While we have made great strides to keep the communities where we are located safe, according to Special Assistant to the President for Public Health Operations Dr. Gillian Ice, epidemiologists estimate the need for a vaccination rate of anywhere from 85 to 95 percent to best protect our communities.
鈥淚 am proud of our University community for their efforts to keep flattening the curve,鈥 Ice said. 鈥淎s I have shared before, getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is the best way to protect yourself and to lower the risk of disease transmission within our University community. Until we have higher vaccination rates, it is critical to continue to mask and physically distance indoors.鈥
