Student Leadership Awards to be held virtually April 14
The Division of Student Affairs announces the 38th Annual Leadership Awards Gala. A partnership with the Division of Diversity & Inclusion, the event celebrates the outstanding leadership and community service of students and student organizations across OHIO’s campuses.
This year’s event will take place Wednesday, April 14 at 6 p.m. and will be hosted virtually for the first time in its history. Faculty, staff, students, family and friends are welcome to attend and encouraged to .
This year’s theme, “OHIO Strong,” recognizes students who demonstrated strength, adaptability and a capacity to build connections. Students who exhibited these characteristics amidst a challenging year make OHIO strong. The selection committees for this year’s awards reviewed 974 applications across 23 award categories.
“The stories and experiences we read through our leadership award submissions this year were truly remarkable,” said Hailee Tavoian, director of Student Affairs Communication and Marketing and co-chair of the Leadership Awards Planning Committee. “This year has been hard on every student. To see the way they continued to enterprise, step up and support each other and their communities through all the setbacks has made the Bobcat network very proud.”
More than two dozen awards and scholarships will be given by the Division of Student Affairs, the Division of Diversity and Inclusion and other planning units to honor the hard work of OHIO students and their commitment to the University and Athens communities.
