Yesterday in Athens there was a blue sky and sunny, 65-degree weather; tonight, there is a freeze warning. It seems even the weather is determined to keep Bobcats on their toes. SUMMER SEMESTER
Athens Summer Scholarship now available
We know your summer travel, internships or other plans may have been disrupted by the pandemic, and we want to make it possible for you to continue to progress toward your goals. With that in mind, for Summer 2020 only, undergraduate students who enroll in Athens Campus undergraduate courses will be eligible for the Athens Summer Scholarship, a new incentive scholarship valued at 30% of Athens Campus tuition and fees (instructional fee, general fee and nonresident fee when applicable).
VIDEO CHAT SERVICES
Telehealth options expanded to offer face-to-face video chat
Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) is now offering telehealth services for students, which can take place through the phone or face-to-face video. CPS is utilizing Microsoft Teams, a HIPAA compliant application, for telehealth services. If a student is new to counseling OR currently not receiving services at CPS, they should call the office at 740-593-1616 to schedule a Telehealth Initial Appointment. If the student has a counselor through CPS, they may directly contact their counselor via email or call the office to schedule a telehealth appointment. As always, students may call CPS to speak with a counselor at any time at 740-593-1616.
GRADING OPTION DEADLINE
Opt-in for alternative grading option
Undergraduate and graduate students are now able to opt into the University鈥檚 alternate grading system, which was approved for Spring Semester 2020 to minimize any disruption due to the coronavirus pandemic. Students taking courses that are not on the may now opt in through to have grades A through C (C- for undergraduate courses) converted into an S grade, which will not impact GPA but still meet all requisite, major, minor, certificate and degree requirements. The deadline to opt in is 5 p.m. May 13, 2020. Regardless of whether students opt in, any D+, D and D- grade in an undergraduate course will convert automatically to S if the course is not on the exempted course list, while F grades (plus C-, D+, D, D- at the graduate level) will automatically convert to No Credit (NC).
