OHIO suspends child-care activities at Child Development Center until March 30
51社区's administration, in consultation with the dean of the Patton College of Education, has determined that the Child Development Center is suspending child-care activities through March 30.
This decision was not made lightly. Similar to Ohio President M. Duane Nellis鈥檚 announcement regarding the suspension of in-person instruction, this is a precautionary measure to prevent spread of the coronavirus and protect the health and safety of the students, staff, faculty and children.
鈥淲e appreciate the support and understanding of parents as we keep the health and safety of our community in the forefront,鈥 Child Development Center Director Lisa Frasure said.
Full-time employees are expected to continuing work at the Center. However, teaching fellows, professional interns, lab student and student employees are not to report until they are permitted to do so. Because the Center relies on OHIO students to maintain state-mandated child-teacher ratios, the Center will not be able to provide childcare until students can return to their work in the Center.
Communications have been sent to all staff and professional interns regarding key details.
