Career fair springs professional opportunities on students

Almost 50 companies seeking engineers and technologists connected with Russ College students Thursday and Friday at the annual spring career fair. From freshmen looking to get into the world of work, to upperclassmen seeking internships or secure a full-time job offers come graduation, more than 300 students sported professional dress and networked throughout Stocker Center and the Academic & Research Center.

Senior Trevor Zender, who is studying engineering technology and management, has attended the fair every year he has been a student.

鈥淚t has always been a valuable resource for me,鈥 Zender said. 鈥淚鈥檝e gotten offers from multiple companies like Toledo Mold, and had great experiences.鈥

Zender is looking for any opportunity, ranging from internships to full-time offers, for after graduation in the fall.

Alumnus Caleb Slyh, BSCE 鈥17, MS 鈥19, who now works at Hull & Associates, Inc., an environmental engineering company with offices throughout Ohio, attended as a recruiter but is no stranger to the event, also having attended as a student. He said his company has always had success with Russ College recruits.

鈥淚t鈥檚 actually refreshing to be on the other side of the process, because I understand the position everyone I talk to is in,鈥 Slyh said.
