January 21, 2020

The Russ College of Engineering and Technology’s online graduate engineering programs rank 38th in the nation and 3rd in the State of Ohio for 2020, as well as 22nd in the nation for veterans, according to the .

The Russ College offers three online graduate programs – a  (MEM), a  (MSCE), and a  (MSEE). The USNWR evaluated each program for a variety of factors including instructor engagement, faculty credentials, and services and technologies.

“Our online graduate engineering programs support workforce and economic development in Ohio and beyond,” said Mei Wei, dean of the Russ College. “We’re proud to provide top-quality engineering education in flexible ways to meet the needs of working professionals while giving individualized attention.”

This January marks the start of the Russ College’s tenth year offering online education. The programs offer online labs and courses that are recorded and archived so students can access learning materials whenever needed.

David Juedes, chair of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, said the success of the master’s in electrical engineering program lies in its connection with the things the Russ College does best.

“We have a long tradition of research excellence in navigation, controls, and autonomy, as well as other areas of electrical engineering. We’ve translated our expertise in those areas into the online setting,” he said. “And our tracks in electronic navigation and unnamed autonomous vehicles make us unique in the online electrical engineering master’s degree market.”

The Russ College also offers online certificates, which can be stacked to obtain a degree.

“Our graduate certificates are a great alternative for students who want a more focused education that they can complete in a shorter amount of time,” said Dale Masel, chair of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering.
