Southern Campus Resource Fair provides information, resources to students
Students took full advantage of this year’s Resource Fair and spoke to a variety of organizations.
IRONTON, Ohio – 51 Southern hosted its annual Resource Fair Oct. 19 in the Riffe Center, Mains Rotunda. Numerous local organizations, campus programs and student clubs were available to answer questions and provide overviews of their services.
Jacki Adkins, assistant director of Student Resource Commons, feels that the Resource Fair benefits participants—both students and those sharing information. ¬
“Our students really seem to appreciate the opportunity to speak with representatives from the various programs face-to-face,” Adkins said. “Also, individuals from the organizations learn from our students and network. This is our tenth year, and participation continues to grow.”
Student Stacy Griffing attended the fair because students who participated were entered into a drawing for a scholarship, but she was surprised by how much she took away from it.
“This was a great opportunity for networking, and I found the Resource Fair very useful,” Griffing said. “I was able to meet a lot of new people and even came across a lead for a potential job after graduation.”
