Michael Pellicane, MA
Michael Pellicane is a doctoral intern from Kent State University鈥檚 clinical psychology PhD program. Michael earned his bachelor鈥檚 in psychology from Hamilton College and his master鈥檚 degree in clinical psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Before joining Counseling and Psychological Services, Michael worked as a therapist in community mental health and an assessment extern at Kent State Counseling and Psychological Services conducting comprehensive assessments of ADHD/learning disabilities. Michael鈥檚 therapeutic orientation is primarily cognitive-behavioral, focusing on how clients can change maladaptive patterns of thinking and behavior to achieve their goals and increase wellbeing. He has a particular interest in working with sexual and gender minority populations and has conducted research documenting disparate rates of mental health problems in sexual and gender minority university students. Outside work, Michael enjoys watching movies, gaming, and cooking.
