War and Peace Studies Undergraduate Certificate
The International Studies – War and Peace certificate addresses the recent and dramatic spike in demand for graduates with competencies in various areas related to war, conflict, security, peace and justice. The certificate allows students to explore the field from an interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences perspective.
Career Opportunities
War and Peace Studies students have earned competitive internships and careers at the U.S. Department of State, congressional offices, the U.S. military, the Peace Corps, and non-governmental organizations like Amnesty International and The Carter Center.
Alumni have also pursued graduate studies at prestigious institutions such as the London School of Economics and the Institut d’études Politiques de Paris.
Certificate Requirements
The war and peace certificate program requires a minimum of 18 hours and maintaining a 2.5 or higher GPA in certificate courses.
- Take 6 hours of core courses and 12 hours of electives that look at violence, peace, religion and conflict from an anthropological, historical or political perspective, or from the lens of journalism and communications.
